Counselling and Therapy in London
I am a MBACP qualified, accredited and registered counsellor and psychotherapist and I have more than 8 years experience working in the voluntary sector and in private practice, with a diverse group of clients ( men, women of all age, cultures and sexual orientation) in sessions lasting between 6 weeks to 1-2 years. My practices are based in Queens park W10, Holborn WC1B, London Bridge SE1 and Camden NW1.
Whatever the reason for seeking therapy, many people do find it helpful to talk to someone outside of their circle of friends and family. You may find it beneficial to have a safe and confidential space in which you can talk about your difficulties. I believe that therapy can offer a way to gain a different perspective and find a way forward by having a greater awareness and understanding.
The way I work
I usually offer an initial consultation where we have the chance to meet in person to explore if counselling is something that you are interested in. After the assessment I will not push you to enter therapy if this does not feel right for you.
IF you decide to continue we can work together and I can help you with :
- understanding how past experiences have played a negative role in your life and how you may have become depressed as a result of these struggles
- understanding how negative thoughts can affects your feelings and behaviours. I will support you to mange these thoughts and by helping you to think more positively and to replace old thinking patterns with alternative ways of looking at issues, concerns and problems
- exploring how you became stuck in your life and i will help you to become more motivated and with a more positive self esteem
Counselling or psychotherapy?
You might ask yourself what is the difference between counselling and psychotherapy. Counselling can help you to clarify feelings, emotions and it is usually short term (6 to 12 weeks). Psychotherapy works at a deeper level and help you to identify feelings, emotions, behaviours that originated long time ago. It is usually long term (6 months to 1-2 years)
